“At first I was quite delighted with the rug for the price. I already have a premier equine one, but it is a bit more heavy duty and I was worried about overheating on a hot day. I saw this cheap option and it said it was light, so I gave it go. First the good, it is lightweight, it is re-inforced around the neck to prevent rubbing, it has a good tail flap and a great belly flap with 3 straps (often cheaper fly rugs just have a couple, or no proper belly flap). Also has 3 neck straps and the neck stays in place on my horse. The bad, it has a small rip in it after 2 days wear (to be fair he rubs on a tree, and the material is not super tough, so to be expected). Also, the fit is not great. The length is true to size and covers my boys back perfectly, but the chest section is too short and out of proportion, you can see that the seam where the chest area joins the body part is straining and it is tight around the chest/withers (and this is where it has ripped). Also if you have a chunky horse, I think the neck will also be tight. Thankfully mine is a dainty arab cross and his neck is very slim. My advice would be, think about sizing up because the front part of the rug fits tighter than the back end. I'm glad I bought it as a spare though and it will get used. One other thing to note is that the belly straps are velcro only, no metal fastners.”
