“The birds in our garden make short work of emptying the bird feeder of this mix, but the problem I have found is that they (especially the starlings) pick and choose what they actually eat and so a whole load of it ends on the ground for the pigeons and other ground feeders to hoover up. The only way to ensure that the majority of the feed on the ground gets eaten by the birds and not left overnight (which might attract rodents) in to be fairly mean in not completely filling the feeder and not being tempted to refill more than once on the same day.”
