“A crumby disaster! Everything from Meg Rivers is delicious but my recent shortbread selection did not travel well and much of it had to be eaten with a teaspoon. Fortunately, it was a present from Me to Me and not a gift I had given to a friend. No blame could be laid at Royal Mail's door; the parcel arrived in pristine condition but the contents of the tin had not travelled well. Too few shortbreads in each packet (shrinkflation?) had left space thus allowing the contents to be so shaken about many were broken, others were eroded by serious crumbling around the edges with the crumbs coating what was unbroken.
Suggestion to avoid damage in future: put sufficient shortbread in each packet to prevent movement OR use smaller pack boxes.
The tin is in excellent condition!”
Thanks very much for your review Margaret and I'm sorry to hear that the shortbread was crumbly on arrival. I have reviewed the bubble wrap and greaseproof paper inside the tin that we pack around the trays of biscuits and I think we could add some more of this to prevent any possible movement in transit.
