“The tin arrived promptly and the presentation made it a lovely gift - the recipient was delighted. However, I need to flag a quality issue: the Lavender and Honey shortbread I sampled was soft. Not crumbly in the way fresh shortbread should be - soft, as though moisture had worked its way in. Stale, in other words.
For almost £30 (incl delivery), the expectation is that every biscuit in the tin is at its best. The recipient hadn't tried shortbread before, so she didn't notice - but I did, and it was a disappointing experience for what is supposed to be a premium product.
Fast dispatch, beautiful tin. The shortbread itself needs to match the price point.”
