“Very crumbly when being cut into, so didn't keep any shape. I bought Flapjacks from the late great Meg Rivers years ago, and they weren't like the ones I bought recently. Your presentation was lovely, but if they had been in a flatter foil square as I bought them years ago (which would have made them alittle firmer and easier to cut and keep shape) they would have been better. Very good ingredients, and the large amount of resulting crumbs were put with topping for an apple crumble so wasn't wasted. As a baker and daughter of a professional confectioner I know these things happen!”
Hello, thank you for posting the review of the Flapjack Traybake. I am sorry it was tricky to cut. The recipe has not changed since we first introduced it many years ago. You are absolutely right, we have changed the foil trays for the little French wooden trays. I would recommend removing the Flapjacks whislt still in the little paper case and then cutting them on a chopping board. I am pleased you didn't waste the crumbly bits!
Kindest regards, Alice.
