These cheating spoons have a very comfortable hooked-end hand grip which makes them easier to hold and play. Spoons are traditional in Irish music and were usually ordinary dessert spoons from the kitchen. Cheating spoons were developed to make spoon playing easier.

“Bought these for my teenage son who has autism. He loves them! He wanders around the house, click clacking as he goes, using them a bit like a fidget toy. They are beautifully made and look like an unusual ornament on his bedroom windowsill which I certainly appreciate amongst the nerf guns and rubik cubes. A great gift for someone who has everything or who is difficult to buy for.”

“Beautifully finished instrument, nice sound and playability. The only inconvenience was that the upper cork joint might have been even too snug fit to open safely after playing session, so I had to sand down the cork a bit to make it manageable without the fear of breaking the flute while twisting it open. The cork crease is a must of course. The wooden spoons is a spot on instrument with a nice clickety sound and well handicrafted build as well.”
