“This book is ideal for beginners (or improvers) on the Anglo Concertina, whether they are totally new to Irish traditional music, or for those who may have dipped their toes into this wonderful music on tin whistle, flute, tenor banjo or any other instrument. The tunes are all the session standards.” Amazon Customer
“This book demonstrates when to draw air vs push, and shows easy-to use fingerings for well-known melodies. It's been extremely helpful for me learning. Gary Coover has proven himself a passionate teacher of the concertina!” Seán - Amazon

Being a lazy music reader, I would have liked the ABC’s at the bottom. This book is very good for using different buttons for the notes & shows you which buttons to use in a diagram at the top.

Am familiar with many tunes in this book playing on a B/C box, but still learning to navigate my concertina. Have been trying to incorporate Jack Talty’s approach so haven’t delved deeply into Gary Coover’s method in which the book is written. Having fun either way.

This book is informative and inspiring. It contains a good range of tunes, gives popular alternative titles and even some pronounciation guidance for Irish Gaelic words. The form of tablature makes a brain-numbing challenge so much easier and advice includes being relaxed about practice and making the tune one's own. I would love some more tunes in the same format. Great book for someone learning to play the Concertina first time. I gave it to my son-in-law, but I already had a copy of this book myself.

This is a great book and one I look forward to using as I become more competent in the concertina. As always the way in which it was packaged was top notch. They make sure it comes to you in the same condition it left the shop. 12/10

Its section about trad sessions etiquette is very interesting. It contains the most popular tunes and the button layout diagrams make it very easy to read the music sheets.
