Swan Neck Cheating Spoons in Beechwood
These cheating spoons made from beechwood have a very comfortable hooked-end hand grip which makes them easier to hold and play.
Spoons are traditional in Irish music and were usually ordinary dessert spoons from the kitchen. Cheating spoons were developed to make spoon playing easier.

Kind of clunky I was looking for a set of spoons that were more Slender and rolled off the fingers, these are too clunky. Nice, carving, wood and finish though.

Just the thing for percussion at our local Irish jam. As my wife says " you just have to whip them out and play"

Great sound and quality I was torn between the mulberry spoons and these ones but decided on these ones since I liked their deeper sound and the ergonomic look of the swan neck handle. They took about a month to arrive at my door on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada, but they were definitely worth the wait. They're loud and deep enough to carry well but not deafening, and they're big and solidly built but also easy to hold. It'll still take some practice to get my playing just right (even the easiest spoons to play won't make you a good spoon player overnight!), but I'm having loads of fun with them so far and I'm sure you'll love them, too.

As a musician, I bought these for my non-musical dad so we could make some music together (which he loves doing). It’s so easy to get a decent sound out of them and being able to play and sing together has been a lot of fun! The instrument is also very well crafted and to such a high standard. Highly recommend.
