The Rosewood Spoons
“These spoons are brilliantly crafted and make an ideal ornament.” - Alan P. We've been using spoons as a musical instrument for more than 3,000 years.   And they made their way into American folk music with the arrival of immigrants from Africa and Ireland, in the 18th and 19th centuries.
These particular bodhrán spoons are crafted from sturdy rosewood, which produces a dark, warm tone with a complex and satisfying bass. These bodhrán spoons are joined at the base which makes them easier to hold and play. Suitable for both beginners and advanced players.   ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES:  IRELAND (Next Day) UK (5 - 7 days) EUROPE (7 days) USA and CANADA (7 - 10 days) REST OF WORLD (10 - 14 days)

I am happy with the quality. My lack of skill is the only thing that takes away from my experience. Let me use it for a while and see if I have any constructive comments.

Very positive experience. The rhythm spoons I bought have a very pleasant tone that doesn't overwhelm the other instruments. Though larger than others I own, I've found them quite easy to play.

Rhythm in wood. Love these spoons. Their shape gives them a very pleasing appearance. But the real value is their sound. The original klickey klak is a rich full sound. But then depending on the part of the spoon you allow to contact the palm of your hand, with the hollowed out areas of the spoon, you can get so many different tones. Then the shape of the spoon at their tip which comes to a point on both spoons, you can drag along your fingers to get like a triplet effect except it is more than a triplet because you are dragging across at least four fingers. As soon as I tried these, I knew that I could not pass them up. And the appearance of the wood is beautiful. So I recommend if you are a spoon player or even if you are not ( because there is a very good chance you will become one quickly after you try one) you need give these a tap.
