Bodhrán Goat Skin Need a goatskin for a bodhrán or drum head vellum? We have plenty in stock. Diameter of the skin is 22" and can be cut to size. Please allow a 10-day lead time for Lambeg skin.   MAKE SURE TO SOAK SKIN IN COLD WATER
McNeela bodhrán goatskins are always sustainably sourced as a by product from healthy animals, carefully selected and examined for quality. They produce great depth of sound and are easy to tune.  100% Natural As our goatskin is a natural product no two pieces are alike so your skin is unique to you with all of its own natural characteristics. These can potentially include visible pores, minor differences in thickness across the skin plus colour variations. Natural goatskin, like our own skin, will benefit from conditioning from time to time so we recommend you use a bodhrán conditioning cream like DrumDiddly to keep your skin flexible and protected and elongate its playing life. Hand-cured The skins are naturally hand-cured in lime, which gives that all-important bass tone, then 'pickled' to close up the pores and finally stretched and left to sun dry, achieving a lovely clean 'bleached' finish. Superb Tone
They give great attack and a fast response and the sound they produce is rich and luscious with a warm mellow bass tone.

Not probably the review content you are expecting, while I play a Bodhran and in the past played a Lambeg Drum, I did not purchase the goat skin for either. I have a passion for the early 18th and 19th Century Frontier Mountain man era. I hand forge knives, axes and all old style tools of the era. As rawhide was often use to make knives sheath as well as leather, I wanted to put an authentic looking cover on my leather sheaths. I could not find thin rawhide anywhere. I came across these goat skins and bought one to see how it would look.. While I have not used it yet for my project, this I will say. It is very good quality, service was good and I am confident that it will do my purpose. I have no issues about recommending this product and I will be buying again in the future.
