Ribbed Beater   This provides good balance and a good strike. Ideal for those who like to use both ends of the beater against the skin. It's grooved along the shaft for a comfortable grip which you can adjust according to what and how you're playing.
There are a lot of different shapes of beaters and most bodhrán players have a variety of bodhrán beaters. The type you use is all down to personal preference.

Quality and Service. I recently bought a Bodhran beater from McNeela Instruments and the beater was delivered pronto the next day and I love it. The quality and design was exactly what I wanted. Well done McNeela

A handy tippler to add to your arsenal. I have purchased many individual tipplers from Paraic in addition to those included with my vast collection Mc Neela bodhrans. I read a review about the ribbed tippler on Paraic's site and I thought "why not give it a try". It is light weight and the ribs enable you to vary your playing style from one head (I believe originating from the Limerick region) to two headed playing styles (originating from Kerry) and therefore good for rolls. I go to sessions here in Australia and this tippler is always in the mix depending on the timing (metre) of the tune at hand. Purchase one and have a good try with it. I find that I am selecting it more often during tune sets. Neil Jolly

Got the beater (tipper) last week and I cant put it down. Moses beaters are amazing but out of my price range. But this beater is amazing, bit heavier than I, m used too but a third of the price of the snakewood tippers same shape as sw5 or 6???.LOVE IT..

I really like the multiple ribs, so you can choose where to hold the tipper depending on what you’re playing. Good solid feel. Nice wood. Good length for me.

Excellent, does exactly what it should and with the ribs you can hold it at different points along its length without fear of it slipping. Paraic, apologies for not coming out to see you but the wife spent longer in Grafton St. than I intended and by then it was to late. Hopefully next time we are over. Have a good Easter. . . Gareth.

I saw this tipper for the first time at my bodhran class. I have the opportunity to try it and it felt good even for a beginner. The tipper is long enough to play with both ends and it feels balanced even if you hold it away from the middle. Service of Irish Music was great, next day home as they said. Thanks!
