I love the feeling of this beater, it's lightweight while having a good weight distribution that helps playing faster beats

This is a lot lighter than what I’ve used before and is now my preferred stick for single-ended triplets. Really quick.

I purchased this tipper/beater specifically to play an 18" trad style bodhran. My thinnner, top-end style sticks don't sound meaty enough. I like the balance and shape for Kerry style playing quite a bit. This would be too weighty and not balanced properly for a top-end style, in my opinion. The good news is that the design is very nice, with the ridges placed in a good spot for my grip. The weight with the rounded bulbous ends gets very nice low tones from the bodhran. Triplets and rolls come easily. My only gripe and it is a small one, is that the finish sanding leaves a little to be desired. I went over it with some 400, then 600 grit paper to smooth it a bit. For the price, this is a nice tipper, but in my opinion, it is suitable for a very specific playing style. I do think that it would be a good beginner tipper, but it won't be your last tipper as your skills progress.
