“I purchased this tipper/beater specifically to play an 18" trad style bodhran. My thinnner, top-end style sticks don't sound meaty enough. I like the balance and shape for Kerry style playing quite a bit. This would be too weighty and not balanced properly for a top-end style, in my opinion. The good news is that the design is very nice, with the ridges placed in a good spot for my grip. The weight with the rounded bulbous ends gets very nice low tones from the bodhran. Triplets and rolls come easily. My only gripe and it is a small one, is that the finish sanding leaves a little to be desired. I went over it with some 400, then 600 grit paper to smooth it a bit. For the price, this is a nice tipper, but in my opinion, it is suitable for a very specific playing style. I do think that it would be a good beginner tipper, but it won't be your last tipper as your skills progress.”

“I recently bought one of these tippers from Irish Musik and it is far superior than any tipper I have ever had. I also bought a 15 inch bodhran tunable. Again the drum is better than the other two I own which also come from Ireland. Straight away from taking it out the box the difference between my other two and the one I got from Paraic McNeela is like night and day. To play this new one is like it improved my playing right away. I was unsure which to buy so I phoned Vivian at Irish Musik and she helped me pick the drum I bought and I can tell you she done me proud, The service is as fantastic as the product, outstanding. I would highly recommend them and definitely buy from them again. I hope this anyone who is wishing to buy and if you are unsure of anything pick up the phone and give them a call.”
