I may have bought wrong type of varnish but it hasn't coloured the mahogany wood rail where the colour had been rubbed off with use but it did leave a nice shine. The varnish also came off on some masking tape which was put on after about 3/4 days .

I was generally pleased with the purchase as it was very reasonably priced and the items arrived in time for these to be used to varnish my new window frame - I paid for three 250ml tins of Ronseal Mahogany Satin Varnish - however, what was in fact delivered were two tins of Mahogany and one tin of Teak - the two tins of Mahogany were sufficient to do the job required well - I may be able to use the third one on another window frame. I had not bothered to report back to you on this as I have been very busy - my experience is that most British companies now do make mistakes probably due to staff shortages or staff being overloaded with work and having to meet very tight deadlines - there is no point in returning the tin of Teak varnish as that would take up a lot of my time and yours. I am somewhat disabled by my double vision and spasticity created by my being hospitalised with Miller Fisher syndrome in 2012 and not being able to go out for many month afterwards - I am a lot better but still experience the residual effects of this rather rare illness. The pollution in London during the summer somehow triggered an increase in these residual symptoms both in terms of frequency and strength. I shall certainly bear in mind your company when I need to purchase paint in the future yours sincerely B. Michael James
