This is the third order of yellow rattle seed that I have had from Meadowmainia. The previous orders did germinated and last year we saw good coverage across the top part of our field. I am hoping this thrid sowing will start to fill in the lower part of the field and fill in some of the blank areas. Because the field is largly grass, I wanted to use the yellow rattle to surpress it so I can go onto start sowing wildflowers seeds. I have also been planting wild daffodills (supplied by Meadowmania) and am hoping for a good display this season. I am also planning at planting other bulbs that can spread, as these can be used to help fill in blanks and will hopefully self seed over time. Establishing a wild meadow is not easy, but hopefully in a few more years time we will reap our investment.

I'm rating this 5 stars in hope rather than experience, because it's too early to know how well the seeds will grow. They have all been scattered on prepared ground and I'm hopeful that, come the spring, I'll see growth.

There was initially a problem with delivery due to courier problems. Rapidly resolved once Meadowmania made aware. Seeds look good and are sown but won't know until spring whether successful or not...hence 4 stars.

Sadly none of the plants flourished and we're swamped by all the other invasive growth in our little field. It's a space that would take two small houses. We have it strimmed back in late autumn and have a few birch sapplings planted on the border. It's wildness gives us much joy. I had hoped that the yellow rattle would hold it's own! Do you think it's worth trying again in the spring ?
