“I have to admit that the first Lomond I received was a lemon (very low amplitude on the balance, would only run for a few minutes) but Oliver was a pleasure to work with to arrange a replacement, which has now been in my daily rotation for a few months.
Externally the build quality of the watch is excellent. All the machining is clean and the blasted surface is very well executed. The dial nods to various watches from the past without being an homage to any. I especially enjoy the multi-layered dial - a lot of visual interest without ever appearing cluttered or contrived. A great work of design.
Internally, the ST-19 is a well-storied and solid movement. I'm not going to hold a non-hacking watch with small seconds to an exacting standard of timekeeping, but in my wearing I've certainly not noticed anything like an unusual amount of variance. The only slight issue I have with the movement is some stuttering of the chrono seconds hand, which I understand to be fairly endemic to the movement.
Overall this watch holds a place of high regard in my collection and I look forward to seeing what Marlowe produces in the future.”
