Aerodyne - Heart Vintage Pilot Tan Leather Reviews

4.3 Rating 3 Reviews
Clean, vibrant yet subtle, this is my 16th Marloe and it doesn’t disappoint. I particularly enjoy the propeller reference on the seconds hand counterweight. Infinitely legible, the brushed dial is a joy to look at. Gordon and Oliver, you’ve done it again and I can’t wait for the new edition of the GMT. I remain a committed devotee. Keep up the great work!

This watch is… ok. You have to bear in mind that it is a small watch typical of the 1930s and in this respect it is smaller than we expect today. That said I can’t help but think that making the watch in aluminium has meant that the watch lacks a satisfying weight that making it in a more traditional steel would have leant to it. I do like the inscription on the back of the watch, on the case back, but I would have liked to have seen the collectors number a little bigger, it’s barely readable. If you have a numbered watch, you want to be able to see that, and I’m not entirely sure that the engraving is deep enough to last. That said the packaging is as awesome as ever. I have another Marloe watch which I absolutely adore so don’t think that this indicative of the brand, it’s just that I feel that this one is not their best design.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of the Aerodyne Heart - we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I just wanted to clarify one point you mentioned. The Aerodyne is not made from aluminium; the case is machined from military‑grade 316L stainless steel, which is lathe‑turned and blasted to achieve its distinctive finish. Regarding the weight, this was a deliberate design choice. The Aerodyne was conceived to be compact, unobtrusive, and comfortable on the wrist, particularly when paired with a stainless‑steel bracelet, which naturally adds weight of its own. The balance between the case and bracelet was something we spent a great deal of time refining. I hope that provides a little more context around the design decisions behind the watch, and thank you again for your considered feedback.

This is my second Marloe piece. The Tay was small but mighty but the Aerodyne is a different beast altogether. If you want a sleek, highly spec'd watch (including a Miyota 9 series movement) for a shade over £300 then look no further. It's beautifully put together, has a touch of art deco about it a d oozes character. You won't be disappointed. John. John's Watch Joint
