“I'm not a watch collector, or even particularly knowledgeable about watches - but I found myself wanting to buy something nicer with the intention of wearing it regularly for the rest of my life.
My criteria was - under £500, a connection to Britain, 36-38mm, good legibility (I'm getting on a bit!) less importantly - a 'story' behind it that I can relate to and also something which I can wear informally on a day to day basis, but can also be worn more formally.
In that sense, the Aerodyne Pearl was almost made for me. So far, I've enjoyed wearing it casually on the orange plastic strap in the heatwave we're currently experiencing, but I also bought the bracelet which looks a little smarter. At some point I will buy a black strap as well.
Aesthetically I love it - the size is perfect on my 7 inch wrist, the finishing is nice, love the raised numerals, the lume is good, the movement runs about 10-15 seconds fast per day, which is fine - easy to re-set with hacking in the morning. The packaging is excellent, creating a positive first impression. Assembled in Britain too is something I appreciate. It's just a great day to to day watch, great value for money, all you need really.”
