“My second Morar purchase and once again brilliant experience from the point of sale to delivery. Roll on August when I can purchase a Marloe Cardinal.”
“I own far too many watches than one person needs, and I didn’t really need to buy the Morar Sands to add to my collection. But I’ve long admired this particular watch ever since it was released and have come close to buying one on many occasions. So when I read that MWC had decided it was the end of the line, and we’re offering them at a discount price, I decided it was time to pull the trigger.
This is a fantastic watch for the money. Beautiful dial detail, outstanding lume and it wears great on the wrist. For sure, it isn’t a hulking beast at only 40mm case size which is small for a dive watch - but that’s what I like about it. It’s DIFFERENT, and it stands out. There’s no Pepsi bezel to be seen. It isn’t 42/44/46mm. There’s no day or date complication. It isn’t powered by an NH35. The dial markers aren’t perfectly round. It’s a dive watch from a microbrand that dared to be different.
The Miyota 9039 is a great movement. 28800 bph so the seconds hand is smooth-sweeping. The rotor isn’t too loud. The handwinding is smooth - it doesn’t feel like you’re grating the wheels together.
The case is a work of art and, again, I like the fact that it’s different. The gunmetal plating is excellent. The bezel action is firm but smooth with a satisfying click at each rotation. The screw-down crown is, again, beautifully smooth. On the timegrapher mine was showing 0ms beat error and +4 seconds per day, which for what I’m assuming is an unadjusted movement is outstanding.
The attention to detail all round is superb, from the cardboard box that it ships in, the box itself with the book detailing the story behind it, to the spare silicone strap and springbar tool. Mine shipped on the matte brown worn leather strap which I was very thankful for as I’m not really a fan of rubber or silicone. And, again, the strap is fantastic quality. The 20mm lugs give you a great selection of replacements to pick from as well.
If you’re hesitating over one of these - don’t. At the time of writing, two variants have sold out leaving a choice of three. If it didn’t have enough already, I’d be in for the Deep Blue as well.
Well done Marloe Watch Company for daring to be different!”
“I purchased the Morar-Sands. It is a work of art. I've worn the watch since receiving it and have had a number of people ask about it. I've only had it a couple of weeks, but it has kept perfect time since I set it. It came with tools to change the bands, which was amazing. The only thing that I found an issue with, is the watch wants to rotate to the outside of my wrist, unless I have the band very tight. It took some getting use to with having to tighten the wrist strap more then I would normally wear a watch. The value of the watch for the cost, was reasonable and even though it was shipped from Scotland, I received it within a week of ordering.”
“Very pleased with my watch and I like the dark brown leather strap. As with my previous purchase the customer service was excellent. Watch is keeping accurate time. Would recommend MWC to anyone”
“Very impressed with my Mora and indeed with packaging. Price point and delivery very good. If I'm to be honest though it could be a tad larger to enable more people to view without me having to flash it about so much!”
