“The watch really had a wow factor for me. The packaging was solid and attractive, and included a great booklet explaining the history and design of the watch. It was well thought out and the first impression was excellent. The watch, on first sight, was extremely beautiful. Clearly, it was made to a high standard, and the design I think is sensational. I have a minor niggle with the "slightly-oniony" crown. I would have preferred a flat crown for a watch with such strong modern lines. I also find the crown a bit slippy, and I don't even have big fingers. I think someone with bigger fingers would have more of an issue. But, the watch is comfortable with a great strap (caramel, in my case), and the whole lume ring is magnificent. I'm not totally sold on the embossed lettering of "Black edition" in terms of it adding to the design, but overall, I think this is a sensational watch for the money.”
“I love my Coniston Black Edition. That's my start point here, it's beautifully done, the lume is spectacular, the dial simple and clear, smart enough to be dressy and casual enough to carry it off down the pub (I wish!). The display cashback showcasing the Miyota 8N33 hand wound movement is superb and looks wonderful. But....
Looks is where it ends I'm afraid, the movement is such a let down on an otherwise spectacular timepiece for an incredible price, from a fantastic company.
Mine, I wound from the box and thoroughly enjoyed watching the piece come to life, set up my app to check the watch accuracy and 24 hours later was blown away by the results, for all the wrong reasons. The watch is +/- 61 seconds a day.
That might not sound a lot to the average guy, but to a collector its dreadful. My Swiss movements all achieve less than 10 seconds with the majority being sub 6. My Tudor is around 4/5 seconds. Now that was also 10x the price, so there is that...!
Put simply, I love the watch. But I have to adjust the time almost every day to use it. That's a price I'm happy to pay to get a watch that looks this good, but I'm not convinced it's one i should have too. I have 4 or 5 Swiss automatic watches that keep significantly better time that cost, in some cases, a lot less than this did.
In conclusion, if you're happy to adjust the time every couple of days, when you'll already be winding the watch, don't be out off, it's a thing of beauty and a great price. My interactions with the company were top drawer and I'd recommend them.”
“I'm already own a Speed Edition, which I'm very happy with, and I couldn't resist this Black Edition when it came out. This is the first time I've ever bought two watches of the same model in different colours, but it's like owning two completely different watches, The change of colour changes the whole character of the watch. This model is so versatile, you can wear it with anything. The lume es improved over the Speed Edition, too. Can't go wrong with a Marloe watch in my opinion.Great quality and great attention.”

“I am very happy with the watch, I feel it represents very good value for money and is beautifully made. I would definately recommend to my friend who like watches, in fact I have done. My only criticism of the coniston would be the strap width, which I think could be slightly wider, although of lovely quality and feel it does seem to make the watch look slightly dainty on my wrist even for a dress watch. Although I am aware that is personal taste! On the whole I would definately consider a Marloe watch again, and a friend is seriously considering a haskell as we speak after seeing the finish of my coniston. Regards James”
