“My previous transformer (lower rating) failed so decided to upsize. After checking with Technical dept this transformer arrived quickly at a reasonable price and all connections good. It is a little larger but no matter”

“I bought this to replace 4 brick power units (with in-built 13a plugs). Great service, arrived quickly and all seemed well. My lights plugged into the fly lead hanging from the transformer which I noticed had a slightly different-shaped connector to the body of the unit. I opened that and realised that it was reversible: it could be connected at either polarity. Then it dawned on me that my lights were DC and the transformer was AC (the clue is in the name). If I had not removed the fly lead I would probably have destroyed 4 sets of lights. Lyco took it back and refunded my expenditure in full. I'm still puzzled why a polarised lead was attached to the transformer. It was my mistake but it was slightly too easy to make. I'll buy from Lyco again - but thinking more carefully and reading the description in detail. Five stars for product and service; nil stars for me.”
