“I purchase some LED Fully Linkable Striplights (UCLED2) to replace my existing T5 230V 8W fluorescents. The New LEDS Striplights are a direct swap over from my existing using the same link cables I had. The clips are the same so no need to do much except take the old one out and place the new LEDS in.”
“General quality and light output of the strip lights is good. All fitted and working. One lamp rattled. I decided to open it rather than bother with returning it. Turned out to be LED circuit not in its channel. Had to de-solder it to get it out and re insert it. Luckily I'm an electronics engineer and this was easy for me.
Like the way you can connect them together without a link cable. Very neat. Wish I'd known this before adding link cables to the order (however, I found I needed them anyway as I'll explain later, so it was a good thing in this case).
Only niggle was that there is no way of having the switch on the other side so sod's law dictated that I had the supply coming out of the wall at the wrong end of the cabinets to feed the first lamp in the chain. Had to get round it by feeding the supply into the other end using one of the link cable ends to get the necessary gender to fit the socket. Not best practice but it works fine. This means the little cover for the unused socket at the other end doesn't fit. I will glue a plastic plate over it.”
“I ordered two LED light tube units intended for kitchens to use inside a bathroom illuminated mirror. They were easily installed and the LEDs work well. I didn't even need to cut any cables!”
