“Looks good and in the end works OK - but it was a nightmare to fit because of small, ill-thought out design details. The small plastic box housing the electrical connectors is supposed to fit into a depression in the back of the ceramic fitting: but various small projections on this box mean it doesn't fit. I had to cut them off; I don't know what they were supposed to be for. Likewise, the rubber tube protecting the end of the electrical supply wires is very awkward to fit in. I managed to fit the box in using duct tape while I screwed the light to the wall. However, screwing it in was very difficult too, because there is no way to get a screwdriver in to the screw slots except at an angle because of the small size of the fitting. Another small but irritating detail: the wall plug supplied is shorter than the length of screw that has to go into the wall, which means it tends to turn as you screw in, so I had to supply my own plug. All these were little problems which can be overcome, but they should not be present in the first place.”

“Good light gives out a ton of light to illuminate any space via reflection rather than direct down light. Up/ down aesthetic provided by the additional cut out is really good. Again, fiddly to put on the wall. One screw can be pre fitted so the light can be hung on it but the other screw has to be fitted through the light. While this light is bigger than the Otis, you still can’t get a screwdriver directly at the fixing screws so you need to come down at an angle.”

“A good looking fitting. The up/ down lighting gives a nice lighting effect. I have knocked of a star for 2 reasons. Be careful not to get any dust from drill spoil which marks the matt finish and needs to be carefully removed. Secondly the fixing method could be improved by using keyhole slots as I had on similar wall lights which these replaced. The fixing terminal block is also a fiddle to position.”
