“Ordered from lighting-direct.co.uk 31/1/2023. Arrived 1/2/2023 and that's using their standard free delivery. The light was packaged very well. I got a local electrician to fit it today 8/2/2023. It was placed on a wall in the open front porch of the house. It took about 1 hour 15 minutes in total to wire and fit but that included putting it on a new circuit from the consumer box and adding a Think Bee remote receiver placed inside a weather proof box (for remote control power switch on/off). The light is of excellent build quality but fidgety to setup before fitting. I used my own blub. The blub needs to be screwed in tightly so that the rubber expands around the base of the bulb as it's screwed in. This must be to keep it weather proof but also the blub will only then touch the contacts if screwed far enough down. I wanted the PIR less sensitive so that anyone walking past the house on the pavement did not trigger it. For this to happen I changed the second dip switch to the UP position as described in the instructions. This achieved the desired effect of only triggering it with in the porch area, a range of 2-3 metres as opposed to the 8 metres. One of the distinguishing features in comparison to other PIR lanterns is that you can use a higher range of light bulbs 6w to 15w LED. I am happy with this choice of light and the service Ireceived from Lighting Direct.”

“Very fiddly to alter the settings for the PIR and timer. Also the screw fit bulb had to be really screwed in tightly to get the light to work and this required unscrewing and removing the glass panel to gain access to the bulb. All in all too fiddly. Lastly the glass panels have gaps which allows rainwater to access the inside, it’s supposed to be an outside light with an IP rating which is only achieved by the rubber seal around the light bulb! For an expensive light it should be better!!”

Thanks of your feedback. The bulb has to be screwed in adequately in order to make a seal with the bulb holder and prevent water ingress. The Claire Light is without doubt one of our best selling products and as with all our range is of the highest quality. “Very stylish. Electrician had no trouble fitting the light. The adjustments for sensitivity and duration are at the back of the light fitting so to make changes the unit needs to be removed from back fixing plate - so not straight-forward. Very happy with the light.”
