F70W/835 fluorescent T8 tube 6ft Triphosphor light bulbs - 3500K WhiteTube length: 6ft - 1763mm (1775mm with pins)Fitted with a standard sized G13 2-pin (13mm apart) caps to both ends. This triphosphor fluorescent T8 tube provides a superior quality of light, with greater energy efficiency and a longer life. Unlike a standard tube, triphosphor tubes retain their high quality of output throughout their lifetime. Lightbulbs Direct. Order ID #294917. A Tale of Parcels. The parcel containing two fluorescent tubes, delivered by Parcel Force, did not give much indication of what was to come. A slight indentation half-way down one side of the pack seemed negligible at least that is what I thought until I opened the package. The card container surrounding one of the tubes was creased, and when I pulled it out from the shredded packaging, the protective cover bent in the middle not a good sign for a fluorescent tube! The problem was immediately reported to the Lightbulbs Direct sales office who promised a new tube would be sent. When Parcel Force delivered the replacement tube, I asked the driver if I might shake the parcel, explaining what had happened previously. The man decided to do this himself, and not to let the parcel into my hands until he had done so. The rattling sound of broken glass could be heard. I refused to accept the parcel, and he said it would be returned to the sender. Again I immediately informed the sales office, who apologised, asking if I wanted a refund. I said I preferred to have a tube. I was told a new delivery would be made, and it was. Incidentally, the person I spoke to at the sales office, commented that the problem with packaging of fluorescent tubes was being addressed. This time the tube arrived intact, however it might not have been so, for the packing was at fault. I asked the delivery man to shake the box (as before), and there was no sound other than the rustle of shredded paper packing. The problem was noticed by the delivery man when handing me the parcel, for he could see the bottom of the parcel and I could not. The tube had worked itself between the side of the cardboard outer package and the base of the pack so much so, that as I held the parcel, the delivery man was able (at my request) to easily pull the tube completely from the packaging. At least we could see the tube was not broken. Both tubes (complete with the new starters) are now in place in the light fitting in the kitchen and are working well. To return to the comment from the sales office person about the matter of broken tubes being addressed'. I did not make anything of this at the time, but have since reflected on the fact that fluorescent tubes have been in use in the United Kingdom from the late nineteen-thirties, and in general use since the early nineteen-fifties. It seems rather odd that Lightbulbs Direct do not have a way of safely shipping these items to their clients. I must make it quite clear my dealings with Lightbulbs Direct have been excellent. The goods arrived on time, and problems with broken tubes was dealt with immediately - and politely. I certainly intend to place my next order with the company, and wish them well.
