“We enjoyed the Gunpowder Plot to an extent but found it lacking in content. The sets were drab and didnt grab the imagination. The actors were good.
Having been to the War of The Worlds experience the Gunpowder Plot did not measure up. From the start of The war of the worlds you were totally immersed and were greeted immediately by an actress in character and costume. It was fast paced and each step of the way you felt an adrenaline rush....sadly not repeated at The Gunpowder plot.”
“INCREDIBLE!! The staff were excellent and really enhanced the experience and when the immersion actually began, WOW! From the start, we felt part of the story, the VR experiences were fantastic and the actors were absolutely amazing. Definite recommend to all.”
“Having done the War of the Worlds experience by the same company before (which is absolutely incredible) we had really high hopes for this one and had been looking forward to it for a long time. Unfortunately most of our group had problems with the VR headsets throughout the experience, with video and/or sound not working. Obviously this took us completely out of the experience, and was compounded by a barman begrudgingly agreeing to give us some free drinks by way of apology, and staff at the end suggesting that some free drinks tokens would make up for a completely missed immersive experience. Unless they can fix and comfortably rely on the VR technology, I’d give it a miss.”
“Totally immersive experience and great fun. Being cast in to the gunpowder plot of 1605 amongst the dark and sometimes dangerous rule of King James 1 was great fun. It was also a great opportunity to learn about a huge moment in English history too. 10/10”
“For those looking for two hours of immersive and innovative fun, The Gunpowder Plot is the perfect experience and a great day out, while incorporating some of London’s most famous history. The costumes and set design, while simple, were effective and provided great atmosphere for the show’s setting. The lighting, sound and special effects were used to full advantage, creating a full 360 environment.”
“Fantastic experience with fantastic actors. It really got us thinking about what we might have done at the time. Loved everyone and everything about it”
“Lots of time where you are being moved from empty room to empty room. The VR was a little odd too in that it seemed to be more about fantasy than actual reality, and the quality of the headsets variable at best. Lots of the content felt padded and had little meaning to the story. overall a disappointment when compared to war of the worlds.”
“Really enjoyed the whole experience. Only negative I have is the photographer. It was extremely rushed even though there was only 1 more family after me. I ended up with a photo showing me holding my phone between my legs. He could have told me to put my phone on the floor and to take my time. Needless to say, the picture is horrendous and will never see the light of day.”
