Jens Knoop has had a strong relationship with chocolate since his childhood in rural Germany. In 2013, he decided to share his passion and opened the first Knoops store in Rye, East Sussex. Today, our expertly crafted chocolate drinks and coffee can either be prepared by one of our Knoopologists in store, or created by our customers themselves at home.

We are experts in the craft of creating the perfect drinking chocolate - a process we call 'Knoopology'. The Knoops concept is based around our carefully curated percentage menu, which offers a wide range of chocolates to suit all tastes. Our real chocolate flakes can be used with one of our hand-picked hot chocolate makers to create the unique Knoops experience at home.

“72% Peru is a delicious hot chocolate. Having tried most of the branded hot chocolate products, I wanted to try some of the Knoops ones. Whilst the 65% was alright, it was probably a bit too sweet / maybe not quite bitter enough. The 72% is good. I would comment that the packaging was an absolute nightmare to open - specifically the 65% tube. I almost lost a couple of finger nails trying to open the lid on the cardboard. I remember Hotel Chocolat used to have a similar sort of packaging - surely there is something better - maybe it was just me! I will buy from Knoops again despite the packaging... although maybe you could sell it in pouches like Hotel Chocolate.”

“Quite a strong warm flavour, which is lovely. I have only just started with this one so am still experimenting but I'm very pleased with it.”
