About KNOOPS:

Jens Knoop has had a strong relationship with chocolate since his childhood in rural Germany. In 2013, he decided to share his passion and opened the first Knoops store in Rye, East Sussex. Today, our expertly crafted chocolate drinks and coffee can either be prepared by one of our Knoopologists in store, or created by our customers themselves at home.

We are experts in the craft of creating the perfect drinking chocolate - a process we call 'Knoopology'. The Knoops concept is based around our carefully curated percentage menu, which offers a wide range of chocolates to suit all tastes. Our real chocolate flakes can be used with one of our hand-picked hot chocolate makers to create the unique Knoops experience at home.

“Delicious but seems harder to get the flakes to melt as quickly as the lower percentage flakes. I guess because the sugar content is lower? Still delicious.”

“As per previous orders and review, this is my favourite (as I can only get 75% Tanzanian in your shops!). Works brilliantly with the shaker and makes a wonderful afternoon treat to brighten up the January afternoons.”

“We first experienced Knoops hot chocolate on a cold day in Kensington. I have never liked hot chocolate before, but this doesn't have the nasty after taste of other products we've tried. The taste of warm chocolate that is hot remains!”

“Very good quality chocolate flakes but the drink, made with semi-skimmed cow’s milk was sweeter than expected. I then mixed the flakes 50:50 with 85% flakes from Hotel Chocolat. I also gave a tube to a friend and she added cocoa to hers. Will buy a different Knoops blend next time and/or check the website for sample sizes to find something more to my taste.”
