Queen Victoria is famously said to have declared that "We are not amused", but this collection of posters advertising late-nineteenth century entertainment suggests that her subjects were busy being just that. From the familiar ('Dick Whittington' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk') to the less so ('The Boy with the Lion's Head'), this collection injects colour into a era often depicted in greys and browns. The original posters are held at The National Archives, UK.
