“I had paid over 200 Pounds for the framed extra large print of one of my favorite artists and when shortly after received, had it unboxed and professionally hung on the blank expanse of wall that for months I had imagined and looked forward to it going. it was with deep sadness and regret therefore that I have removed it from the wall after hanging for just two days because of the displeasure I felt every time it caught my eye. The luminescent bright yellows at the bottom and the vivid almost translucent greens at the top of the print have been replaced by inferior pigments of very different hues (as have many other sections of the print. ) The very thing that I love best about this artist's work is that it embodies movement, flow and is imbued with an energy and vibrancy, It feels alive. Since it is an abstract print of colour blocks the relational aspect of each precise tone, its shade and its luminosity as well as the relational interplay of shade/shadow and light is key to its beauty and artistry, The print now feels completely different, it to me is a very different picture, feeling very heavy and dull. it has lost its movement and " life" The connection I got from looking at it is now gone, and it is no longer appealing to me. I believe the artist Nancy Ortenstone would be deeply disappointed with this dead version of her picture because I feel her work is created with intent to convey that energy and movement. I am very disappointed that King and Mcgaw have not been able to provide an authentically accurate version of this print and have not recognized how critical it is to do so particularly on art prints where the colours and their interplay are the essence of the piece. I had a similar problem with another print I ordered from them a few years ago but was led to believe that this may have been due to a fault in their printing process. To their credit, I have always found their customer service team to be excellent so intend to speak to one of their advisors as soon as I can with my serious grievances and hope that they may be able to find some resolution so that what should and still can take pride of place does not end up in a charity shop.”
