The bike itself is great, feels solid and well put together, bright colour which my son loves and is very light compared to others he's had which makes transport very easy. Going to a larger balance bike which can convert into a pedal bike wasn't something we'd considered but having done so very glad we did, it feels a very smooth transition and better than stabilisers, which get removed later.

The whole family fell in love with this bike after our son unwrapped it on his 7th birthday! Grandparents, parents and uncle have not stopped singing its praises. If only this existed when we all learnt to ride. It couldn’t be more prefect for our cautious boy who was not keen to get on a bike until now. We could not recommend this product more highly! Fantastic purchase.

The balance bike was bought for our 6 year old grandson, who has had a tough few years. He got on the bike quickly and went off down the road with his Dad. The bike is very well made and easily finished once delivered. The real plus for this bike is it's light weight. This makes it very maneuverable for smaller riders and gives them confidence in controlling the bike from the outset. Our grandson loved the colour too.

My child has not tried it out yet as it’s a Christmas present I am hoping the size is right for him.

Amazing idea, been looking for ages for a larger balance bike for my autistic son and this is perfect for him. I love the fact you get a pedal pack with it so the option it there to try pedals when he is ready!

My son (6 years old) had a heavier pedal bike but was unable to ride independently. He was previously riding with stabilisers. We soon came to the conclusion that the bike was too heavy and we needed to go back to basics. We researched various lighter balance/pedal bikes and came across the rookie 18. What made us choose this bike was that it was suitable for his height (he’s tall for a 6 year old) and we could go back to basics of using the balance element of the bike. He was on the balance bike for approx 1 week getting confident gliding, turning and using the brakes. After 1 week we put the pedals on and he was riding with pedals within 10 mins. An excellent and well made bike which I would recommend to any older children who are learning to ride.
