“First impressions of the cover, are they are high quality, and i am glad i went for the xl tall top box cover for my yamaha xj600s diversion with 3 large boxes and touring screen, it fits a treat, I like the drawstring at the back of the cover and the buckle in the middle of the cover to help stop the cover blowing off, I have added strong string in the cutouts where you can put a chain through to tie it down even more, the bike is garaged, but bought it for a touring holiday, to help keep it dry, and just feel safer especially overnight if it's covered, it hasn't been tested outside yet, but looks like it will keep out even torrential rain, very pleased first impressions.”
“The description says elasticated cover the one I received wasn’t ☹️
The old version with an elasticated string was perfect for rain and wind especially ,the upgraded one with just a string was flying away on the first windy day ,I suggest JDC to keep the old version.
Not happy with this new product at all”
Thanks for your review, I am sorry about the issue you have experienced with this order.
We recently upgraded our covers and we still have both old and new covers in stock which is why the description was not updated, this has now been done. The reason we changed from the elastic hem to an adjustable string is that customer feedback said that the elastic hem was difficult to fit to a bike and that it rode up the bike when fitted. The benefit of the adjustable string is that it can be fitted the bike easier and then adjusted to suit the size of the motorcycle and locked in place with the toggle, there is a pocket at the back of the cover for the excess string.
I am sorry you were not happy with this new feature and the description was not updated to reflect the purchase you made.
“Good fit, the elasticated bottom keeps it secure over the bike with the extra strap if required. You have to remember to let the exhaust cool for a few minutes before fitting, as it doesn't have the reflective panels inside. Could do with a different colour on the top box part, just so you know which way round it is in the dark!”
