This a very useful bit of bike security. Both motorbike and cycle. The alarm should deter most thieves and the disc lock prevents pushing or riding away.

Brilliant little alarm for the money (although I bought it elsewhere) I can recommend this product. I live in a block of flats and the alarm does not disturb anyone even in high winds. But try and move the bikes steering of kick the wheel and it goes off. This combined with my chain, padlock and ground anchor is superb and my motorcycle cover.

I am impressed by the robustness of this product. Whatever you do don't have your ears too close to it if you test the alarm.. I suggest purchasing a disc lock reminder cord to save any costly damage if you forget to take it off. Easy to use what more could you want?

This lock works very well, and is quite heavy which should make it very stable in respect of false alarms. I left it on the disk when I started the engine, and the alarm sounded straight away without moving the wheel at all. Make sure you buy a disk lock reminder with it. Comes with two sets of batteries (One installed and one loose) and two keys. It uses 6 (AG13) LR44 button cell batteries. I bought this alarm for the moped I keep on the driveway. I bought it on the strength of other comments and reviews. I have had it on the moped for a few weeks and have had no issues. I saw someone put the alarm had been going off due to high winds. There have been a few windy days and have a cover on my bike and although the wind has been flapping that, I have had no problems on that front. Its easy to put onto the bike, just position the alarm around the disc brake and push the silver lock to arm, it bleeps to let you know its set. It went on first time without problems. The only issue I have had is me not being able to turn off the alarm quick enough when I want to use my moped, so its gone off a few times while I have tried to disarm it. Its loud enough! You have to insert the key and turn it to take it off the disc and I have found this fiddly but its more to do with me getting used to it than the product itself. It comes with a spare set of batteries too. A good purchase and I may buy another one to put on my bikes in the shed. This alarm is very easy to fit and can be heard inside the house without it being noisy enough to annoy the neighbours. Excellent item. Read original review from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B005GKAZB8/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

After a recent attempted theft of my bike, I needed to purchase a new disc lock. My previous old model Xena had given me piece of mind for several years but the would-be thief had managed to chisel off the alarm module before it had actually gone off. The sturdiness of the disc lock itself proved too much however, so they gave up before managing to move the bike away. (Please note newer Xena models have a more enclosed alarm system, so an attack on the alarm itself wouldn't be as simple) Personally my bike is worth very little so I wanted to keep costs down for the replacement lock and this lock seemed to fit the bill. A very similar product to the Xena range but at about 1/3 the cost - but I wasn't expecting much The JDC lock itself has a good to weight to it and feels nice and sturdy. The yellow colour looks nice and hazardous, so should catch your eye to remind you to take it off before setting off, and should also stand out to thieves. Now for the most important part - the alarm. Once you click the lock into place, it sets off a tone to let you know it's armed. After 15 seconds, any knock to it and it will tone a few times to warn you - loud enough to hear over most outside noises. Any disturbance after that and all hell breaks loose!!! Up close, this thing is deafening and its high-pitch warbling tone is really uncomfortable on the ear - after the first time I tried it, my ears were left ringing for a good few minutes. With it being as loud as it is, it must sap the batteries fairly quickly so it's a bonus that 2 extra sets are supplied with the lock (along with the allen key required for fitting) Now obviously this item alone won't stop a determined bike thief. The only things that might are ground anchors, expensive toughened chains and complicated garage alarms. And there are obviously higher quality disc-lock alarms out there, but a skilled bike thief will have the wheel off the bike quicker than they can be caught, if all you are using is a disc-lock. So for what it is, this lock is ideal - the sensitivity is there, and the alarm is plenty loud enough to put off amateur/opportunist thieves and raise the attention of people nearby. It's also small enough to stuff in your jacket pocket. For £25 this is a cracking piece of kit - buy one now. Or buy two, put one either side of your caliper to lock the wheel in place and as back-up. (I can only imagine how terrifying two of these would sound next to your ear) Read original review from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B005GKAZB8/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
