“I struggled to choose a star rating. I've settled on poor because I couldn't bring myself to describe this experience/product as normal. You will understand why when you read this: The hardware side is excellent (ie cameras & NVR - digibox). The cabling and tools were decent quality too. You get very clear images recorded to the box which are easy to find and download to another device. The delivery from CCTV kits was quick and the packaging excellent. The software side is very poor and I still have not managed to view and reply the footage through any browser. Look online and read similar accounts from many very frustrated, technically minded people who are tearing their hair out trying to do the same. I've tried all of the browsers and downloaded every kind of plug in I can find. I've disabled my antivirus and firewall. I've contacted my ISP to find out if there is anything incompatible about my router. Where is the easy to find/call 14 day helpline number staffed with competent people willing and able to help to sort out the web stuff? Is it CCTV kits' responsibility (the reseller) or Hikvision (the manufacturer)? I have three very good cameras which record day and night so on the one hand I feel like I got what I paid for. On the other hand, when I think about what I should have (remote monitoring/playback/email alerts) I feel as though I have been diddled. Forewarned is forearmed!”
