Waxed jacket by Barbour, featuring a funnel collar and a full two-way zip through fastening with a storm-fly press stud overlay. The Duke has the traditional four outer pockets with double press stud fastenings to the front and a Barbour International branded badge to the left sleeve. A quilted nylon lining adds warmth to the jacket, whilst the collar and cuffs feature soft corduroy detailing.

“Bought the black, slim fit, medium, which fits me well, my chest size being 40. Very waxy at the moment, but I believe it will 'dry out' with a bit of time. Have to keep it covered because the wax attracts dust and fluff. The excellent craftsmanship is evident everywhere, in the inner lining, the stitching and the studs. When fully buttoned up, not even Aeolus at his most bad tempered will be able to get through! However, I plan to wear it open - indoors - as fully done up the appearance is quite severe, somewhat martial. Given sufficient care, this jacket should last more than the average adult lifetime, its comforting weight a testament to the high quality of the material. It clearly weighs more than the 21 grams of my soul and cost a lot more in pounds, so the garment outlasting the wearer should not be considered an exorbitant expectation.”

“While the Barbour jacket is as wonderful as expected the customer service with Hurley’s from as far away as the United States is remarkable. A billing error was corrected in a very quick manner. Telephone customer service operators are thorough and friendly.”
