“It is slow to power up and we have missed several programmes because it has failed to record
but we bought it to record several programmes at once and whenever we have done 3 or 4 at least one has failed.
It could be our signal but the same programme failed to record 3 programmes in the series and when I did a back up on another machine (just in case) it worked that time.
This is our 3rd Humax and each one has been slightly different.”
“We have been using the 5000t for a few weeks now and now we have adjusted to it's software (we had a Tivo box from Virgin - enough said about that!) We have dumped Virgin Media and not looked back - the savings over the next few months will easily pay for the Humax recorder.
Setting up the machine to get online was easy peasy and I got it right first time. The software is a dream to use and as intuitive as you could want it to be. Setting the recording of programmes and managing the navigation around the menu's and set-up options is also very simple.
I have read some of the review's by other user's and I am puzzled why the location of the friendly blue LED's position is causing some people to question it's location - after all who wants an extra source of light staring at you while you watch your favourite programmes?
It is obvious if the unit is on or off from the response it has to the remote control.
We are delighted to say, we are both very pleased with our shiny new recorder and will recommend it to our friends should they be looking for a new PVR!!.”
“would have liked an instruction book to explain how to get it to play the 1st episode of a series instead of the end one first, also how to stop it doing the same recording twice once in HD &the other in ordinary.Still getting used to other things.”
“This is the second FVP-5000T recorder I have purchased in the last few months. Very impressed with it - much quicker and so many more features than our previous (and now quite old) Humax "Fox" recorder. I've noticed that it does "hum" quite noticeably even after it is turned off which does not happen with the FVP-5000T recorder I purchased in November 2017 so hopefully it is not faulty or about to break down....”
