My cats escaped during a 5 minute journey to the vet. The zip at one end broke and one of the cats chewed or clawed through the mesh at the other end.
Luckily I noticed in my mirror that one of the cats had climbed on top of the carrier (under a cloth) so I climbed into the back of the car to see what had happened. Fortunately I was able to usher the cats back into the carrier and with the help of the vet I was able to hold the cloth over the holes and carry them into the consulting room. We managed to do the reverse on the way out but after about 2 minutes one of the cats was in the passenger footwell. Fortunately, he stayed there otherwise it could have been a very dangerous driving situation.
I complained to huggle pets who dismissed this with 'No pet product is indestructible. These particular items are constructed with mesh panelling and will, of course, be damaged if the material is clawed at.
As this has been confirmed to be damaged in use, we are unable to act further on the matter as this would not be covered under any warranty.'
Do they not realise that cats have claws and do not like being constrained in a carrier.
I'm regretting not paying attention to other similar feedback. The build quality of this is unsuitable for transporting anything other than a little kitten or a very docile cat.”
“The foldable fabric crate we purchased is very good - enables us to have an uninterrupted supper, & our puppy seems contented in it. Relatively easy to assemble, packs neatly. Good sturdy handles for carrying. Only criticism is the description of ‘sheepskin’ mat - it is very flimsy, with wool (?) tufts attached to thin mesh base & attached by zip to strong nylon back, with a thin sheet of foam inside. Puppy decided it was for playing with. Probably ok for older dogs, but we replaced it with a better mat. Otherwise I’d have rated it 5.”
