“I bought a Double electric blanket a few weeks ago and I'm certain I never want to live without one anymore. We have two controls (very convenient, as my wife uses different heat settings compared to me) and I can control different settings for body as well as lower leg/feet. The blanket has a nice/soft cover and essentially also serves as mattress cover.
The heat takes 10-15 minutes to become noticable and probably 25min(? never timed it) to get to the desired heat level (i.e. the setting on the controller).
The controller is easy to operate and has the convience of remembering your last used settings, *provided* you let it time out (i.e. keep the heat 'on' for the duration that was set). In that case, the next time you want to use the blanket, all it takes is a click on any button. However, if you switch 'off' the blanket (via the slider on the bottom half of the controller), the settings are lost and the next time the default full heat for both areas is used (which you can then change to whatever setting you want).
The controller screen is backlit so you can easily see the settings at night but the screen backlight goes off after approx 3 seconds (i.e. there is NO light of any kind from the controller from then on).
I am so happy with this blanket that I bought another one (this one is for my parents).
