“The Peperomia caperata Rosso that was delivered to me on 29 Sep had some leaf shedding initially that I took to be normal behaviour after transport. However, the soil remained soggy for well over a week after delivery. Initially, I waited for it to dry out a bit. When I realised that leaves kept dropping off because their stems were getting mushy, I began to suspect root rot. When I took the plant out of the soil, I didn't see any roots – it was basically a few brown fibres that were falling apart. The plant still has some leaves left, but I don't have much hope for it. So beware of being potentially sold sick, overwatered plants!”
