La Giaretta della Valpolicella Amarone Classico Reviews

Husband and wife team, wonderfully - though confusingly - called Francesco and Francesca, run the estate in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone, in Marano, with a total production of 70,000 bottles. Great care is taken in the vines, and the vineyards look a little bit more like gardens. The selection of grapes for the Amarone come from vines planted 30-40 years ago using the region’s old Pergola Veronese system. They use only small oak barrels to age the wines and have no international grape varieties, basing all their wines on Corvina and small percentages of the other two local grapes.  "It's pure Black Forest Gateaux in the mouth with edges of cedar and a wonderful whack of creamy oak on the finish. Fine tannins, great structure and a lush quality to it. Once you've tried this wine you will be hooked!"Tom Harrow, Wine Guru Its elegance and strong character make this wine a fantastic gift.

About Honest Grapes:

Quality and value from independent growers - a refreshing new wine marketplace.

Honest Grapes began with a mix of wine enthusiasts, wine professionals, and friends seeking a good selection of great value, quality wines, at prices that are fair and equitable both for the customers and for the producers.

We also wanted a website that had a community feel with fun social tasting events: a back-to-basics, no nonsense, exciting approach to such a glorious product.

The result is Honest Grapes - the quality wine marketplace. We’re pretty proud of be a part of it and we rather hope you will be too.
