This is my second Bantam Alox from HH. I ordered one a while back and loved it, then lost it whilst on holiday a few weeks ago. One of the first things I did on returning to the UK was check HH's website to order a replacement, but horror of horrors, they'd sold out!! Thankfully they emailed me a week or so later and I ordered a replacement straightaway before anyone else could beat me to it, and the knife arrived a couple of days later, ahead of schedule. VERY happy to be reunited with what has become my favourite EDC!

Just got this, to use as a beater knife, mainly for cutting up cardboard boxes. I'm fed up with tearing up boxes, because I'm very reluctant to use my knife which has the perfect razor sharp edge.. It's absolutely ridiculous that I should carry a beautiful expensive knife, which I've sharpened to perfection, and look for any excuse not to use ,,I'm obviously a very sad individual,,,..So,, from now on, I'll be the "2 knife guy". One, to feel smug and fuzzy about, and another one, to actually use,, !!!...Yes, I need some therapy, to alleviate this pathetic condition,,But I can't afford that, because I buy expensive knives,,,,ps, I always carry a Leatherman squirt ps4 too.. But that's another story,,,, Sad, old, obsessed, perfectionist,Idiot,,,, (pick a name) ,,, Lmfao.

I've fallen for this knife in a big way. I wanted something slim and light which also had a cap lifter, and the Bantam Alox has that in spades. It weighs hardly anything, has no silly protrusions for a keyring so is lovely and smooth, and the riveted alox scales are simply beautiful, giving it a fantastic retro look. Better still, the Alox doesn't feel remotely greasy in the way that the Cellidor can do when your hands get sweaty. If I had to name the two things I use most frequently on my Climber SAK, those would be the main blade and the cap lifter, with the scissors coming in 3rd place. The Bantam Alox therefore takes the best bits of my Climber and strips everything else away. It's so obviously a SAK that no one bats an eyelid at it in the office. Would I use it for really heavy jobs? Probably not. How often do I end up doing heavy jobs in my role as an academic? Never. Does it therefore do everything I'd want in a good EDC whilst looking the part? Yes, yes, and yes. Buy one.

Great little knife. I've carried bigger SAK's but TBH I find they don't always sit well in my pocket so I wear them in a pouch which can be faff! This little knife is great for every day cutting of stuff throughout my normal day and it's small enough to even fit in the coin pocket of my jeans. I don't even notice I have it an carrying it this way means the knife is always to hand whenever I need it. Quick delivery from HH as well.
