“My disappointment in this matches the price tag. I should have gone for the victorinox, but no, I thought the leatherman charge that I've had since 2007 has served me well, so I would stick with them. How wrong was I? Very, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The main blade needed honing upon arrival as the blade was sharp, but rough, this didn't take much, but it shouldn't have needed it anyway. Apart from the main knife, the other tools are fiddly to access one handed, but maybe the thing will loosen up over time, I don't know. The pliers are better though, they don't get trapped when closing them as they sometimes did on my charge, but then after all the years with it, my muscle memory knew how to close them without having this happen. If I was to go back a few days, I would have just bought a new main blade, or tried the victorinox. This will probably be my last leatherman now. I got a lovely leather sheath with my 19 year old charge, which is still good. I intend to put this in that, since leatherman don't even include one anymore, even for a rather immense £260 price tag. I may grow to like it over time, I haven't had any with it yet, but my first impression leaves me regretting my choice so far, so we shall see.”

“The Leatherman Arc is a well-made, solid tool with the very attractive bronze scales, but the blade has been a real let-down. I bought it as an upgrade to my old Wave, mainly for the Magnacut blade, yet out of the box it was essentially blunt. Even after stropping, it still struggles to cut cleanly. I'll need to put a proper edge on it with diamond stones, which is disappointing for a brand-new, premium tool. While I'll keep it for the updated features, the blade won't see much use until I re-work it myself. Overall, not the upgrade I expected and poor value for the price.”
