The Tortoise Gear Firefly is tailor-made to replace the toothpick in a Victorinox Swiss Army knife (SAK) or tool. A perfect EDC fire starter, the Firefly is a firesteel, which will produce sparks when struck against the back of a knife.
This pack contains three regular Firefly – For medium and large sized Swiss Army knives with 50 mm (slanted top) toothpicks.
Glow in the dark top.
Custom sparking material twice as easy to spark as a typical firesteel / ferrocerium.
140% stronger than typical firesteel / ferrocerium.
Soft sparking steel, so it is less brittle and can be easily used with any sharp edged stainless tool on the Swiss Army Knife.
Comes in neon green-yellow glow and classic ivory glow.

“A tiny backup ferro rod which is always at hand whenever you're carrying your victorinox SAK. Provided you check out the instruction and videos on how to correctly use it, this tiny ferro rod WILL light decent tinder like fatwood shavings. Use the back of the wood saw and pull the firefly towards you on the NARROW side. This technique is so good, I plan on using it with my normal ferro rods as well. And of course this is also an excellent backup for lighting gas stoves. I'm not sure I'd be happy to use the even smaller fire ant, but the firefly is surprisingly good.”
