The original SLIPIT model, the UK Penknife was the first design to combine the defining features of the revolutionary CLIPIT platform—a pocket clip and Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole for one-handed opening—with the legal and social friendliness of a non-locking mechanism. This version of the design elevates its performance with a full-flat-ground blade crafted from nitrogen-enriched LC200N blade steel.
Its textured handle scales are injection-molded from fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) in the signature high-visibility green of most Spyderco LC200N folders. The satin-finished blade of this knife uses, in this version, a SpyderEdge and includes a textured index-finger choil for enhanced control and safety. Its fully accessible Trademark Round Hole complements a reversible deep-pocket wire clip to make every aspect of its carry, deployment, and operation completely ambidextrous.

“This is my eighth Spyderco UK friendly carry knife, I can stop buying them at any time…honest. There are a lot of first with this one though: My first fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) in high-visibility green, normally I don’t like FRN and change them out for aftermarket ones, but these bright green ones have a purpose… I keep telling myself. My first Spyderco LC200N blade, now that I’m retired I seem to be spending a lot more time at the coast so trying this material blade makes sense and so far it’s performed well around the water. Finally it’s got the SpyderEdge (serrated) blade in this version, another first me, just because I fancied trying this style and I think it’s more likely to be used around fibrous material. Overall the knife looks and feels great, build quality is to the normal Spyderco high standard. Usual great service from HH.”
