The Spartan-George V14 Dagger is Spartan Blades’ first collaboration with the gifted and prolific knifemaker Les George.
Beginning with the formation of the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) following the end of World War 2, daggers have come to symbolize the most elite of the military special operations units and intelligence agencies. With the Spartan-George V-14 Dagger, Spartan Blades' goal was to create a custom knife that improved upon a classic profile with better materials and a more thoughtful design.
The V-14 features a full-tang design combined with a 0.63mm (0.25 inch) precision ground thickness, making for a very reliable blade. Each of these handcrafted knives is first hollow ground with four symmetrical bevels, then vacuum heat treated, double deep cryogenically treated and double tempered. The end result is added edge retention and toughness, thus fixing the classic durability problem that has plagued military daggers in the past.
In addition to an extremely high quality blade, the Spartan-Georgie V-14 features an ergonomic and textured handle specifically designed for maximum comfort and a confident grip. This is where Spartan opted to diverge from tradition, choosing an oblong handle with flats on each side to assist in the indexing and use of the knife during times of limited visibility.

“In my opinion a more modern and improved design on the Fairburn Sykes knife, which has a very slim and therefore more fragile blade, both this and the F/sykes are for collectors only, a lot of money for something that is just going to be observed and admired, there are much better knives for far less money that are superior and cut as well. For collectors only in my opinion, but I have a black one just to complete my collection and the engineering alone is worth the money imo.”

“I bought one of these before they were not held in stock by Hennies for a while in Black.I am ex forces and this is the signature shape knife for several elite units, it is beautiful in it's design.I was not disappointed, it really is a masterpiece of modern engineering, cut using laser guidance to ensure that it is perfectly symmetrical, which is some feat on a double angled blade.It just embodies quality, the scales are incredibly tactile and pleasant to hold. I have never used it as that not the reason for owning one, it is something to satisfy the urge in a man to hold a perfectly made and balanced knife.It is based on the F and S commando knife issued to commandos during WW2, however in the field it had flaws in it's design, when it became wet and slippery it turns in the hand and so many guys bought an American Kbar which has a much more secure grip.So I had to think long and hard about paying the price which in 2022 was just under £600 .But it has been worth the expense to me, I get enormous pleasure out of looking at and holding it, only someone with a warrior brain set can really understand that, to me it is worth every penny. Highly recommended.”
