If you have thin, weak or long fingernails, or your fingernails chip easily then this is the tool for you. You can use either end to place into the nail nick on a penknife and ease the blade into an open position (90°) and then open the rest of the way with your fingers. My daughter can already open all of mine and her knives all of the way open with it.The side crescents on the rounded end can also be used for striking a ferro rod - it gives excellent sparks. The squared end can also be used as a pry-bar.So this is a strong, sturdy and well made multi-purpose tool for knife owners - well worth the money.

An absolutely cracking little bit of kit. So useful and much better than breaking the tips off blades to get things open!

Very functional and well made pry bar, i like that it has the lanyard tube and also fits perfectly into nail nicks on the rounded end, life saver for me because i have no nails and problems opening stiff knives due to an injury and surgery to put my hand back together years ago, only thing to note is the image looks like green micarta, but i recieved natural coloured micarta, which i personally prefer since it will be easier to dye any colour i decide on at some point, very happy with it.
