The QSP Penguin has been one of the most popular folders of recent times. It is a powerfully built knife with a wide, sheepsfoot blade capable of a wide variety of tasks. In previous incarnations the blade locks into place but this new model has a non-locking slip joint mechanism. This means that as the blade is under three inches long and not locking it is OK to carry within the UK. Due to its exceptional manufacturing and very sturdy back spine the blade snaps into the open and closed position with reassuring crispness! Plus there is a half stop which will help to prevent accidental closure.
The handle is made from G10 with attractive red liner on the black option and black liner on the white version. There is also a choice of blue or OD green G10. Accessorise your one with a lanyard and add a detachable thumb stud if you wish to enable one handed opening.
Now you can carry your favourite knife for all your daily chores!

“Just bought one of these for my daughter's other half for Chrimbo. I had to have a look and a play with it before gifting it away and I was gob smacked!! £50 for a legal folder of superb fit and finish is a total bargain. “I now own the D2 liner lock Penguin, the micarta Hedgehog, & the UK friendly G10 Penguin. All great knives. The 14C28N of the G10 Penguin & Hedgehog, is tougher and more corrosion resistant than D2 but won't hold and edge for so long. This Penguin is a very solid tool, with a wide blade that snaps firmly shut after first engaging the half stop. The stop pin gives an additional sense of strength and security.The absence of a pocket clip is a plus for me, as I prefer a lanyard hole as found on this model,The addition of a choil allows for precision work, but this has meant a significant loss of cutting length relative to the original Penguin.Of the three knives mentioned, I feel the Hedgehog has the best ergonomics, but the Penguins are heavier duty offerings.This knife is beautifully made with a superb fit and finish and definitely worthy of a five star rating.”
