Kizer Catshark Folding Knife Reviews

The Kizer Catshark is one of the most inventive little EDC knives Kizer has produced, blending compact practicality with genuinely clever design features. Created by Azo and Yue, the Catshark combines a compact non-locking blade with a surprising amount of functionality packed into its shark-inspired profile. Should you wish to use the Catshark as a locking blade, it is provided with a small rod which, when placed through the holes in the blade and handle, becomes a locked blade. Want it as a UK Friendly carry folder? Then just leave the rod at home.
The Nitro-V blade delivers excellent everyday cutting performance, while the snappy action, front opening and ergonomic finger groove make the knife feel fast and satisfying in hand. Despite its small size, the Catshark has huge personality.
What really sets the Catshark apart is the number of useful details hidden throughout the design. Alongside the blade you get features including a bottle opener, hex bit driver, lanyard hole and even a light-duty pry bar integrated into the titanium handle construction. The deep carry pocket clip keeps it discreet in the pocket, while the combination of titanium and G10 gives the knife a premium feel without adding unnecessary weight. Fun, practical and refreshingly different, the Catshark is exactly the sort of knife that turns into a favourite daily carry the moment you start using it.

“Neat little pocket knife. Needed a little fettling for a perfect edge. Good size for EDC tasks. The blade doesn't lock without the included stud/bar and is a little prone to folding if you're not careful (hence 4 stars). Nicely packaged for a £50 knife though.”

“Great in the hand and the additional bits (bottle opener, hex drive ability and the locking pin) are great However it certainly wasn't as sharp as I was expecting. Hence 4 stars.”

“I like this a lot. It's got plenty of features that other similar sized knives don't have and will make a good EDC. The detent is strong enough without making it to tight for a smooth opening. The indent for your finger is wide enough to be useful for keeping the blade from closing. The pin (which has a internal thread) is an interesting feature but it is to loose to stay in place. It's much better on a lanyard that will help keep it in place when held next to the handle (not sure I will use it though). Never used the blade steel before so will be interested to see how it holds up over time.”

“A lovely little pocket knife that fits most of my requirements. Kizer cat shark is the right dimensions for uk carry. Would have given it 5 stars if the blade was made of a better metal that holds its sharpness.”
