Is there a better ring lock, light weight, reasonably priced pocket knife on the market? We don't think so!
Working out of Palaçoulo in Portugal the father and son team of Jose da Cruz create knives of outstanding quality and practicality. They are notable by the use of a heavyweight brass ring lock that secures the blade in the open position, no puny stainless or aluminium that over time loosens and becomes less effective.
The Jose da Cruz Boxwood Carbon features a compact, streamlined blade made from Carbon steel. It is extremely sharp out of the box and makes for a highly versatile and handy blade. The handle is polished Boxwood.

“Opinel on steroids, I can't help but to compare the 2 but there's many differences. The blade does not lock closed and is thicker, the handle is especially attractive, the lines on it being the result of worm activity (I'm guessing) I really like it and have already bought another 4 varients , no doubt I will end up with the whole set :)”

“Nice knife. Very sharp. Once open the collar firmly locks the blade in place. Beautiful handle and overall an excellent knife for the price. Great alternative to an Opinel.”

“Really nice alternative to an Opinel, I actually received the knife in the site pictures, and it's outstanding for the price, the fit and finish is spot on, the locking collar has a bit of resistance and once turned to the locked position is very secure, not likely to slip in use. The blade is evenly ground with a nice satin finish and very sharp. Nothing to fault as far as I can see.”
