The Helikon-Tex Bushcraft Satchel is the perfect bag for your next bushcrafting trip.
Helikon-Tex have designed a shoulder bag, not too big, not too small and perfectly suited to its specified use. It has a wide YKK zippered main opening for easy access plus an abundance of Molle loops to add pouches and pockets when required. There are two side pockets for your favourite knife or folding saw and two "bottomless" pockets for an axe or other larger items.
Plus there is a front zippered pocket for smaller but equally vital bits and bobs. The strap is adjustable for high or low carry making it a very comfortable bag to use for a day trip or longer excursion.

I've had one of these since they first came out, in stunning 'Coyote', er, brown sand. First off, yes they are single skin, no, they are note really 'waterproof' - at least not for North West Wales. But I have filled this bag to the brim, and it hasn't let me down yet. There's nothing on it that is just for show (except for the little logo), and no more than you need, in my opinion. Light and hard-wearing, I've no complaints. There are of course always more expensive, more tactical options out there but if you just want a handy good looking bag that's also kinda retro - this is the one for you. Comes in other colours than dirty sand, which is nice.

This is a pretty basic satchel without many frills. It uses lightweight material, which isn't waterproof at all. Bearing that in mind, it is quite overpriced. However, I own two, and it is easily my most carried bag. It holds a surprising amount of gear, and I use it in the woods, travelling, and day to day. The compression straps are a waste of time, along with the webbing below the bag. I'd rather Helikon dispensed with these, and add a shoulder pad. It's not the perfect bushcraft satchel, but it's a pretty good one. I added a shoulder pad, and put a sit-mat inside, which pads the hip. I've had my first one at least 5 years, and some of the stitching has frayed, but it's held up pretty well, in view of the amount of use it's had. I only bought a second because the first is starting to look stained and grotty. Nice that it's available in so many colours. Get one.

Over the years I have spent so much money on bags. I have way too many, some never used. Being a Birder, and about to up take Fishing. I needed a bag mainly to put in a small spotting scope, bridge camera, food and water. Plus gas/small stove. Small fold up seating mat. I studied all of the reviews, looked at other brands. From that I got one. Without question, it is better than a rucksack, extremely well made. With my gear above, I even have space for a fleece and a little more. This bag won't let you down, it's light, and super strong where the strap meets the bag. More than happy, highly recommend. The surprising thing, with all of the above, the price is quite incredible. Value for money, and it will last. All the best Gerry

Just the right size for a day in the woods or an EDC. Great quality and reasonably priced. Makes a change to the rucksack.

Not really a bushcrafting bag, i was a little disappointed in the quality but for what it is, it's OK, you get what you pay for with this.
