Helikon-Tex 17L Bushcraft Satchel Reviews

Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

The Helikon-Tex Bushcraft Satchel is the perfect bag for your next bushcrafting trip.
Helikon-Tex have designed a shoulder bag, not too big, not too small and perfectly suited to its specified use. It has a wide YKK zippered main opening for easy access plus an abundance of Molle loops to add pouches and pockets when required. There are two side pockets for your favourite knife or folding saw and two "bottomless" pockets for an axe or other larger items.
Plus there is a front zippered pocket for smaller but equally vital bits and bobs. The strap is adjustable for high or low carry making it a very comfortable bag to use for a day trip or longer excursion.

Had mine a couple of years now, used as a field bag and daily work bag, such is its flexibility. At around 17 litres, its tempting to overload it (and you will), so buy an additional shoulder pad. Dry bags needed for anything like electronics or spare clothing as it will wet-out quickly in bad weather. Nothing has broken or fallen off and it attracts positive comments. Light, capacious, hard wearing, and thoughtful features make it a winner.

Bought this satchel as a replacement work bag. Didn't realise the dimensions until received - specs were clear to see here on HH. It's quite big, bigger than I wanted. It seems tough, though maybe a bit thin? I have other Helikon Tex gear, and all products are high quality.Look at dimensions.HH great as ever.

Seemed a bit extravagent buying this to carry my ferret about he's getting on a bit but still goes for a walk with the dog just needs carrying home so i was looking for something like this made from a tough material, he loves it couldn't wait to dive in and slept in there for a few hours plenty of room to move about hence the 5 star review, i was a little dissapointed my tablet didn't fit in the zipper bit but the side pockets inside are elasticated and it fits there so no problem, it's big enough for a ferret a tablet and a bluetooth speaker at the other end, i reckon i could get another ferret in there it's quite deep too,

Just the right size for a day in the woods or an EDC. Great quality and reasonably priced. Makes a change to the rucksack.

This is a pretty basic satchel without many frills. It uses lightweight material, which isn't waterproof at all. Bearing that in mind, it is quite overpriced. However, I own two, and it is easily my most carried bag. It holds a surprising amount of gear, and I use it in the woods, travelling, and day to day. The compression straps are a waste of time, along with the webbing below the bag. I'd rather Helikon dispensed with these, and add a shoulder pad. It's not the perfect bushcraft satchel, but it's a pretty good one. I added a shoulder pad, and put a sit-mat inside, which pads the hip. I've had my first one at least 5 years, and some of the stitching has frayed, but it's held up pretty well, in view of the amount of use it's had. I only bought a second because the first is starting to look stained and grotty. Nice that it's available in so many colours. Get one.

I bought this as a travel bag. It's big enough to be useful and small enough to be discrete, lightweight and rugged. I found a non slip shoulder strap pad which helped enormously. The internal pouches and zipped pocket, and external zipped pocket, give just enough organisation. Excellent.

Just arrived, seems great. Well made and light weight. Internal pouches for bottles really good feature. Good use of webbing for reinforcement and attachment. Arrived within 20 hours with free delivery; witchcraft!
